Adding Music On Hold Files
The following procedure describes how to add files. Only properly licensed or royalty free music files may be used with the Music On Hold feature.
From the Music On Hold page, click the Add Music button. The Add Music pop-up window appears.

| Adding a Music On Hold file: Use this button to upload a file in MP3 or WAV format. Click the Browse button. Navigate to the music file on your local computer, click the file, and click Open.

Enter a name for this file in the Song Name field. Click Upload.
After the file is uploaded, you can play it on your computer by clicking the
ic
on to the left of the file on the Music On Hold page.
Changing the Order of Music On Hold Files
Music On Hold files play according to the order in which they appear in the Music On Hold page, starting with the top file on the page, if the randomization setting is not selected within settings on the Music on Hold page. To change the order in which files are played:
- On the left side of the Music On Hold page, hover the mouse over the up/down arrows for the file you want to move (the pointer changes to a 4-headed arrow).
- Hold down your mouse button, drag the file to the desired location, and then release the mouse button. A message tells you that the file has been re prioritized and prompts you to click Save.
Music on Hold Settings
Click Settings on the Music on Hold page.
Randomize Music on Hold
Tick the box next to "Randomize Music on Hold" to have the system play files in a random order.
When the Randomize is not enabled, Music on Hold files will play in order from top to bottom. This is the default setting.
Add an Introductory Greeting
Tick the box next to "Play Introductory Greeting" to input a notice before the Music on Hold files begin to play.
This is typically used for very brief messages, such as "Please hold. Thank you for your patience."
Greeting types include:
- Text-To-Speech: Allows you to type a script to be read by an automated voice (recommended)
- Choose Text-To-Speech
- Type your desired intro greeting in the Message text box.
- The default language is English, but French and Spanish options are also available.
- Choose your preferred Voice (we recommend Daniel or Fay).
- Listen to your script to ensure the voice you choose pronounces the script correctly. You can add commas/periods for additional pauses or spell words phonetically if needed.
- Save
- Upload: Allows a pre-recorded audio file to be uploaded.
- Choose Upload
- Click the Browse button
- Navigate to the file you want to use for your greeting (must be in MP3 or WAV format)
- Click the file, and click Open.
- Click Upload.
- Save
- Record: Allows you to record a greeting through the system by calling your desired extension or telephone number
- Choose Record
- In the "Call me at" field, enter the number to call (either an extension or a telephone number such as your cell phone) and click Call.
- Your phone will be called. At the prompt, record the new greeting, and then press # when you finish your recording.
- It will automatically be uploaded. Refresh your page to verify it was uploaded successfully and listen back.

Editing Music On Hold Files
There might be times when you need to edit the name of a Music On Hold file.
From the Music On Hold page, either:
– Click a file name
OR
– Click the pencil icon at the far right of the file you wish to edit
Either step displays the Edit Music pop-up window.
Click Save to save any changes.
Deleting Music On Hold Files
If you no longer need a Music On Hold file, you can delete it from the system.
- From the Music On Hold page, find the file, and then click the red trash can icon at the far right of the row. A confirmation prompt appears.
- Click Yes to delete the file or No to retain it.
